Professor Washington Yotto Ochieng, FREng

Chair in Positioning and Navigation Systems and Head of the Centre for Transport Studies, Imperial College London.

Professor Ochieng has extensive experience in the fields of Geomatics and Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) systems. He joined Imperial College London (ICL) in 1997 after working in GNSS products development at Racal Electronics (later acquired by Thales). At Imperial College London he is currently the Head of the Centre for Transport Studies and Chair Professor in Positioning and Navigation Systems in the department for Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the UK Institutions of Civil Engineers, Highways and Transportation, Civil Engineering Surveyors and Navigation.

He gained his PhD from the University of Nottingham (UK) in the field of Space Geodesy and later worked there as a Research Associate.

Many projects have benefitted from Professor Ochieng’s involvement covering many areas of navigation useful for all modes of transport including the design of Galileo, EGNOS, Air Traffic Management Systems for SESAR and Intelligent Transport Systems.

CHC Tech Ltd are pleased to have Professor Ochieng working as Advisor, providing invaluable input into the development of new and exciting products to come.
